MEMBERSHIP
Our membership year runs from January to December.
Two local businesses have generously made available a 10% discount on regular priced green nursery stock to members of the Russell and District Horticultural Society.
Visit Barry’s Home Hardware and Beyond the House Garden Centre, both on Craig Street in Russell for your next plant purchase. All you have to do is show your current membership card before you pay.
Wondering about other nurseries? Just ask at the store and show your membership card. Many places also give discounts for gardeners.
Adult membership is only $10 per year. Become a member today!
You may purchase or renew your membership with cash or cheque at any of our meetings or sending an e-transfer to [email protected].
If you send an e-transfer make sure to include your name, e-mail address and phone number in the message.
Junior Gardeners
We have a lively program for young people aged 5 to 16 who want to learn about growing things.
The registration for the Russell Junior Gardeners program fee is $10 per year/child. In households with more than 2 children, the fee is $10 per child for the first 2 children, then $5 per child for more.
Registration for the program is in March each year and then at the end of May the kids can pick up their free plants - 2 varieties of vegetables and 2 flowering plants. They'll learn how to take care of their plants and watch them grow over the summer. In the fall, at the Russell Fair, they can display what they've grown.
It's a great way to meet new friends, learn about gardening and have lots of fun!
